SK Raid Seating

Raids are scheduled using the in-game WOW Calendar.  Only ranks at Knight level and up will see the scheduled 25 man raids.  If you want to sign up and are not at that rank yet- ask Kromer for an invite.  Remember that it will be rare to join the guild and immediately begin getting seated for a 25 man raid.

Raid Seating:

In WOTLK, the Serenity Knights will continue our pattern of having progression raids on Fri/Sat/Sun nights at 6 server, with non-progression raid nights Tues/Wed nights at 6 server.

This dual raid structure makes it possible to help new raiders learn their roles, gear up and demonstrate their proficiency outside the demanding environment of a raid that is learning new boss fights.

Tuesday/Wednesday Raids

Seating for these raids will be somewhat more relaxed than progression nights. Class/Role balance must come first, but getting new raiders in comes right after. Initially, these weeknight raids will focus on 10-man instances, and will help gear raiders to be stronger on the weekend, but as more people reach 80, we will bridge to 25-mans, break in new raiders, and give raid time to those who are not being seated on the weekend.

Progression Raids

Seating for 25-man progression raids requires that your Class Commander has approved you for raiding. When considering you for approval, the Class Commander will review your gear choices, talent spec, and may talk to you about spell/ability rotations, etc. They will take special care to verify that your gear level is suitable for the level of content that we are working on, and may reccomend crafting/badge/PvP/instance items to help you correct any gear deficiencies.

Once your Class Commander OKs you for progression raids, you can begin signing up for them in GEM. The Raid Leader will begin seating you for weekend raids as spots become available.

Seating for 25 man raids is arranged on GEM usually right before the raid. The Raid Leader decides who to seat based on giving us the best chance for success for that specific raid and for the long term. We do not plan to "rotate" who is seated, because our goal in raiding is to be as successful as possible, not to seat every single person who wants to go to a progression raid.

Having said that, we will have opportunities to for new raiders to work their way into the progression raids, and will continue to offer weeknight raids to gear you up and allow you to show your stuff. If you consistently sign up and are available, even if you aren't get seated, you are showing that you are reliable. If you also do well in the weeknight raids, you are going to be given a shot on the weekend.

In WOTLK raiding, we intend to give opportunities for players to win a spot in the progression raid by showing that they can perform. We will seat the best players, period.

IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING SEATED

1)Talk to you class commander (or sub) about what you can do to improve your gear and performance (shot/spell rotation). PLEASE DO THIS SOMETIME OTHER THAN RAID TIME. Please don't bug the raid leader during set up of raid time. Being a raid leader involves A LOT of work prior to the raid. He's not getting paid or any special perks for doing it. So please respect him and allow him to do his guild job. You may discuss it with an officer, class leader or the raid leader after the raid. The raid leader will probably give you SOME reason for you not being seated at the time of raid.

2) KEEP SIGNING UP! One of the factors is availability. If you are regularly available and trying to go this will be taken into account. The raid leader will then know that you are going to show up regularly, which is important. If we bring 10 new people to every raid we are not going to progress, because we will be teaching the fights to someone new all the time. But it does not hurt for you to sign up, because you never know when that spot will be open, and you will be earning DKP for being on reserve.
